Kathi Bui
Founder/Owner of B.U.I. Behavioral Understanding & Interventions, LLC, Trilingual, Telehealth/on site DVOMB Domestic Violence/Substance Use Disorder treatment provider, BSN, CAS, ADVTP, ATP
As the CEO, Founder/Owner of BUI Behavioral Understanding & Interventions, LLC, I leverage my Nursing education from University of Colorado Health Science Center, credentials from Office of Behavioral Health Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) and Domestic Violence Offender Board (DVOMB) approval in collaboration with the Colorado Division of Criminal Justice System to provide high-quality evidence based interventions for treatment and health promotion. With over 25 years of work experience in the Behavioral Health field the utilization of evidenced and based and best practice approaches have supported my working with various high risk populations.
Utilizing my extensive work knowledge, life experiences, insights of a multidisciplinary team, (MTT) that include Probation officers, Clinical professionals, Treatment Victim Advocates, and involved third party service providers, individualized treatment plans are created to better meet Client needs and support the mitigation of risks for positive outcomes that reduce relapse/recidivism potentials for client and increase victim and overall community safety.
Giving back to the community through volunteering as Secretary of the Board of Directors at Rocky Mountain Swing Dance Colorado, a 501 3c nonprofit charity, I promote wellness through dance, movement, and music to support brain health and well being.
My passion for brain health extends to inspiring others to increase mind-body connection through scientific neuro-informed Pilates movements at my Neuro Vilatis Pilates studio/wellness center.
Because the beauty of language learning/mastery is enriching, I find joy in volunteering English lessons to immigrant populations as a way to strengthen community bonds, increase communication skills, and promote self-sufficiency.
Core competencies include culturally/linguistically competent assessments utilizing professional proficiency in English, Spanish, Vietnamese to decrease barriers to treatment, learning, and communication through identifying interventions for the mitigation of substance use disorder (SUD) and intimate partner violence (IPV) relapse/recidivism potentials.
Passion for improving the lives of people in recovery/treatment through behavioral understanding and interventions motivates my continued work. I strive to create a positive and supportive culture at B.U.I., LLC and am always looking for new opportunities to learn, collaborate, and innovate in the Behavioral Health industry.
Services are tailored to accommodate demanding work/life schedules.
BUI LLC is unique in offering Domestic Violence and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services in Vietnamese, English, and Spanish without the need for an interpreter. This allows clients to process their experiences in their native language with a state-certified DVOMB provider who is also a native Vietnamese speaker—one who can capture and integrate the cultural and linguistic nuances that influence motivation, behavioral change, and outcomes, ultimately supporting victim and community safety.
BUI LLC also promotes and implements a volunteer program in which clients who have completed treatment can access extended Aftercare and continue giving back by sharing what they've learned with current groups. This fosters a sense of interconnection and community while encouraging discharged clients to taper out of treatment gradually over the three months following discharge. Throughout this period, clients have a safety net of continued access to group and individual support at no cost.
